Building a business that fits your life means getting really clear on what you offer—and making it easy for people to say “yes.” If you’ve mapped out your six-month vision and broken it into real numbers, the next step is figuring out how to connect those numbers to actual income.
What can you sell right now that feels right, actually helps people, and doesn’t overwhelm you?
When I Chased Every Shiny Idea
When I first started, I tried everything—digital courses, group programs, recommending other people’s stuff. I watched what everyone else was doing and felt like I had to keep up.
But all that running around left me stuck, because I didn’t have one clear thing to offer. I couldn’t answer the simple question: “How do I actually make money today?”
So I stopped. I asked myself, “What do I already do that I could offer right now?” Not something that would take weeks to build or drain all my energy—something I was already doing and loved.
That question changed everything.
Step 1: What Could You Sell?
Grab your notebook and write at the top: “How can I create income from home, through my own work?” Then just brainstorm without judging anything:
- One-on-one services (reflexology, coaching, energy work)
- Workshops or classes you could teach
- Products you already love and could recommend
- Simple guides or downloads you’ve made (or could make easily)
- Group offers (paid groups, bundles, memberships)
If you’re juggling another job like I am with bus driving, focus on what you can build outside of that. Write down everything. You’ll narrow it down later.
Step 2: What Can You Sell Right Now?
Now circle 1-2 things that:
- Feel doable with your current time and energy
- Solve a real problem people have
- You’re actually excited to offer
Ask yourself:
- What have people already asked me for?
- What would someone pay $47 (or another reasonable price) for, rather than spend hours trying to figure it out themselves?
- What could I help someone with that would genuinely make their life better?
You don’t need five different offers—just one thing that’s crystal clear and ready to go.
The One Offer That Actually Worked
With my full bus schedule and limited hours, I committed to one simple offer: a 60-minute reflexology session designed to help overwhelmed moms feel calm, supported, and reset.
That’s it. No packages, no upsells. One clear person. One clear result. I showed up consistently with that offer, and bookings started coming in.
Step 3: Do the Math
Time to get practical. Let’s say your goal is $1,000 per month. Ask yourself:
- What’s the price of my offer?
- How many would I need to sell to reach $1,000?
Here are some examples:
- $47 offer → 22 sales per month
- $60 session → 17 clients per month
- $100 package → 10 clients per month
With these numbers, your goal stops feeling overwhelming. It becomes a clear target you can work toward—one conversation, one post, one moment of courage at a time.
Your Turn: Make It Real
In your notebook, write down:
1. Your Offer: One thing you can start promoting or selling right now (it doesn’t have to be perfect).
2. Your Price: What you’ll charge.
3. Your Monthly Goal: How many sales or bookings you need to hit your goal.
Then get specific:
- Who is this for? Be as specific as possible.
- What problem does it solve?
- What makes it easy for someone to say yes?
Getting clear now builds the momentum you need for everything else.
Making Your Offer Simple and Clear
Use these questions to nail down your plan:
One-line description: Keep it simple. Example: “A 60-minute session for busy moms who feel burnt out and need quick relief.”
How people buy: Where can they go to buy or book? If it’s not set up, what’s the fastest way to get it live?
How you’ll talk about it: How will you share this offer this week? Story post, short video, voice note, conversation?
What you’ll stop doing: What’s one thing you’ll quit doing that’s stealing time from this offer?
Write these down. Put them somewhere you’ll see them every day.
You don’t need more perfection or more time to get ready—you just need one clear offer that makes sense for your life right now. Focus on that. Make it available. And watch what happens.
Keep it simple. Stay consistent. That’s what builds trust.
