Hi, I’m Haley. I’m a business strategist and reflexologist, but mostly I’m someone who gets what it’s like to try to build something meaningful when life won’t slow down.
I started my business before I was even certified. I was driving school bus routes, seeing clients, raising two kids, and dealing with a dog and a cat who seemed determined to create chaos. No fancy budget. No perfect plan. Just a clear idea of what I wanted and a willingness to figure it out as I went.
That’s why I created Future Focused Marketing. I want to help you stop looking for the “right” way to do things and start building a business that actually fits your life and what matters to you.
The Night Everything Changed
One evening, after a crazy long day of driving the bus, seeing clients, and trying to check everything off my list, I sat down to write content for my business. I had twenty browser tabs open and was second-guessing every single word I typed.
I’d been copying what everyone else was doing. Following all the formulas. Trying all the strategies. But nothing felt like me.
Then I asked myself one simple question:
“What do I actually want my life and business to feel like?”
That question changed everything. I stopped trying to squeeze myself into someone else’s mold and started focusing on what actually mattered to me: having a purpose, keeping things simple, and putting my heart into my work.
You Have to Want This for You
Here’s something I need to tell you straight up: I can give you every system and strategy I’ve ever used, but I can’t want your success more than you do.
You have to decide what you’re building and why it matters to you. That clarity is what will keep you going on the hard days, the messy days, and the days when you wonder if any of this is worth it.
Waiting for the perfect time to start? It doesn’t exist. The perfect moment is right now, when you decide to begin.
Why Simple Wins Every Time
In the beginning, I tried to be everywhere at once. Every social media platform, every new trend, every strategy I heard about. I was exhausted and completely disconnected from the work I actually cared about.
One night, I closed my laptop and asked myself:
“What do my people actually need from me right now?”
The answer wasn’t complicated sales funnels or posts full of business buzzwords. It was connection. Real stories. Honest thoughts. Simple posts that came from the heart.
I decided to focus on creating a calm space where my community could take a breath. Every time I shared something genuine, bookings came in and people started referring others to me.
That’s the magic of keeping it simple: when you combine heart with intention, people feel it.
Building from Love Instead of Fear
Fear-based marketing just creates noise. I spent way too much time afraid of failing, afraid of missing out, afraid I wasn’t doing enough. It kept me spinning my wheels and getting nowhere.
When I shifted to building from love—love for my clients, love for my family, love for the life I wanted to create—everything changed.
Love creates real connection. It speaks to the people who actually need what you offer. They can feel it. And that feeling turns into trust, which turns into bookings and people telling their friends about you.
Your Turn: Let’s Get Practical
Mindset only matters if you actually do something with it. Here’s what I want you to try:
1. Ask Yourself the Real Question “What would success actually mean for me?”
Don’t just think about money or numbers. Think about how you want to feel every day, how you want your days to flow, and how you want your business to support your life.
2. Picture Your Ideal Day Close your eyes and really imagine it:
- What time do you wake up?
- How do you start your morning—coffee and quiet music, a quick stretch, just sitting still for a minute?
- Who are you working with, and how does the work feel?
- How do you want to feel when you’re done for the day?
3. Pick One Place to Show Up Where do you actually enjoy being? Your website, Facebook, email, or meeting people in person? Start there. Don’t worry about being everywhere else.
4. Share What You Actually Believe What truth about your work lights you up? Share that. Not because you think you should, but because you believe it. Keep it simple. Keep it real.
A Quick Exercise: Your Own “Laptop Moment”
Think about the last time you felt completely overwhelmed in your business:
- Where were you? What was on your screen or racing through your mind? How did your body feel?
- Now ask yourself: “What do my people actually need from me right now?” Write down whatever comes to mind. Don’t overthink it.
- Get specific:
- What’s one platform where you genuinely enjoy showing up?
- What’s one simple way you could connect with your people this week?
- What’s one truth about your work that you believe in, even if it’s hard to put into words?
- Write this down and stick it somewhere you’ll see it: “I don’t need to do more. I need to do what matters.”
Building a business that lasts starts from the inside out. Your mindset isn’t just feel-good fluff—it’s the foundation that shapes every decision you make and every action you take.
So take these thoughts, keep it simple, and build from love. Your future-focused business starts right now.
